The Sovereign Hill Museums Association is a not-for profit community-based organisation that includes: Sovereign Hill Outdoor Museum, Sovereign Hill Hotel, AURA and Narmbool, the Australian Centre for Rare Trades and Arts and the Australian Centre for Gold Rush Collections. It cares for a nationally and internationally significant collection of over 150,000 objects and protects the tangible and intangible cultural heritage of the Victorian gold rush.We are an Australian tourism icon that attracts some 500,000 visitors annually. The Outdoor Museum is internationally renowned as a living museum featuring rare trades, and programs and experiences that interpret a pivotal point in Australia's history. In all, some 350 staff work to bring our gold-rush story to life. They are supported by over 250 volunteers.The Coordinator, Volunteer Programs is responsible for the day-to-day rostering, engagement and management of Sovereign Hill Outdoor Museum volunteers and the Centre for Rare Arts and Forgotten Trades. The role will also be responsible for coordinating Volunteers at the Australian Centre for Goldrush Collections when required. The role is responsible for proactively driving meaningful connections between employee and volunteer teams by working with operations and program event managers in optimising volunteer engagement in the visitor experiences.Reporting to the Head of Volunteer Program, the Coordinator will support the Head of Volunteer Program in building local community group partnerships with the purpose of building an inclusive and diversity focused volunteer program. This is a part time role, working 24 hours per week on a rotational roster. If you enjoy working with people and have a pleasant and empathetic disposition and the ability to manage multiple tasks, this role is for you.To be successful in this role, you should have: - Excellent organisational skills and proven ability to manage a range of projects simultaneously and to balance priorities - Excellent administrative skills including capacity to maintain effective databases, reporting, rostering and evaluation - Excellent presentation, written and oral communications skills and an ability to represent the Association in a professional manner - Ability to promote programs and generate interest in volunteering - Sound computer skills including experience using the Microsoft Office suite of programs - Prior experience in a similar role and the ability to work across weekdays, weekends and public holidays.Child Safety and Criminal History Checks - Sovereign Hill is committed to child safety.
