Job DescriptionAbout the Role:
An exciting opportunity is available for a Year 10 Legal and Commerce teacher to join a senior school in Caroline Springs, Melbourne's West. This 0.8 FTE position runs from now until the end of the year, with the possibility of extending into the new year. Join a senior college committed to fostering both the academic and personal growth of students within a supportive and engaging learning environment.Key duties:
  • Plan and deliver engaging, age-appropriate Year 10 Legal Studies and Commerce lessons aligned with the Victorian Curriculum, covering topics such as criminal and civil law, legal systems, Business Management, Economics, and Accounting.
  • Design, administer, and evaluate both formative and summative assessments to measure student learning, providing constructive feedback and reporting progress to students, parents, and school leadership.
  • Develop teaching materials, activities, and resources that promote critical thinking, real-world application, and inquiry-based learning.
  • Integrate current legal and commercial events into lessons to make content relevant and engaging.
  • Support students in building foundational skills for senior studies, including study strategies, legal reasoning, and practical applications of Commerce principles.
  • Foster a safe, respectful, and motivating classroom environment where students can thrive academically and personally.
  • Collaborate with colleagues and subject coordinators to ensure consistency and quality in teaching practices, develop interdisciplinary projects, and share best practices.
  • Participate in or lead co-curricular activities, clubs, or initiatives to enhance the overall student learning experience.
Skills & Experience:
  • Must have full Australian working rights
  • Completed relevant Qualifications in Education
  • Hold current VIT registration
  • Demonstrate previous experience in teaching Legal Studies and Commerce within a Secondary school in AU/NZ
  • Ability to provide contact details for two education-based references from within the last 5 years (student-teacher mentors are acceptable).

  • Commencing as a part time 0.8- 4 daysa a week, position starting from now until the end of the year with possible roll over into 2026
