Reporting to the Lead Design Engineer, this position enables you to work on complex and rewarding projects with blue chip clients in offshore and subsea industry, on a permanent basis.As a Design Engineer – Analysis, you will be working on scopes such as;
  • Simulation of subsea lifts, flexlay, moorings and tow operations;
  • Hydrodynamic modelling of vessels;
  • Vessel stability assessment;
If you are a team player who would like to work closely with people from different parts of the world, we would love for you to apply.DOF projects involve creation of plans and procedures for subsea installation and recovery operations including crane lifting, flexlay, mooring lay and towing. By modelling and simulation of these operations using Orcaflex software, Python automation and hand calculations in Excel, you will develop operational methods and assess those methods for feasibility, offshore operability and design loads.   • A four-year Bachelor's degree (or equivalent) in Engineering (preferably Ocean Engineering/Naval Architecture), that is recognised by Engineers Australia for Professional Membership;
  • Creative self-starter and practical problem-solver;
  • Demonstrable ability to use Orcaflex software for simulation of typical DOF operations;
  • Programming experience (python or similar, advanced MS Excel skills);
  • Basic AutoCad skills (Rhino modelling experience is an advantage);
  • Demonstrated excellence in English report writing (MS Word) and presentation of calculations and results (MS Excel), tailoring reporting to suit the intended audience;
  • Ability to explain technical issues to a non-technical audience;
  • Recent experience in analysis of subsea installation and recovery methods including SURF projects;
  • First-principles understanding of splash-zone hydrodynamics and ship motions;
  • Proven ability to design and specify lift and tow rigging to DNV standards;
  • A strong commitment to HSEQ.
