- Support the achievement of research outcomes by undertaking a range of research and administrative support tasks including facilitating development of research protocols under instruction from principal investigators, HREC submissions, patient recruitment, patient follow-ups, research data governance, assisting with reports, ethics and grant application and publications.
- Keep abreast of developments, activities and protocols in relevant research areas through liaison with staff and peers, reading relevant literature and attending meetings and seminars.
- Comply with established research methodology, policy, protocols, OHS and regulatory requirements.
- Participate in and implement continuous improvement activities relating to research projects and quality assurance standards.
- Perform screening and recruiting of clinical trial subjects into identified research projects.
- Provide education to other team members/patient/families related to a specific research method, protocol, or program.
- Obtain and document all required clinical trial data information into required data collection systems (paper/electronic/online web-based databases) with excellent attention to detail.
- Maintain open and effective channels of communication with colleagues, research collaborators, and other stakeholders to support, facilitate, and enhance research objectives.

- Demonstrated ability to work as an effective member of a team as well as the ability to exercise high levels of independence, judgement, and initiative.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy and an understanding of confidentiality, privacy, and information handling principles.
- Well-developed written and verbal professional and academic communication skills, including a demonstrated ability to prepare a range of documentation for various audiences and the ability to interact with a diverse range of stakeholders and negotiate positive outcomes to complex issues.
- A high level of computer literacy, including demonstrated experience in learning and adopting new software packages as required.
- Foundational knowledge of research methods.
- Provide junior staff, graduates, students working in the unit with appropriate supervision, training and instruction in accordance with Alfred Health policies.
- Other ad hoc research activities will be undertaken commensurate with the role.
- Currently registered as a Registered Nurse with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia via AHPRA
- Commitment to research process and application to practice
- Completed or working toward a postgraduate/Masters qualification with a Healthcare/ Research focus
- Previous experience in health-care research is desirable but not essential
