- Perform basic clinical and clinical support duties under the clinical practice supervision of an experience Physiotherapist in the areas or Acute services, orthopaedics and musculoskeletal outpatients.
- Provide feedback to supervising Physiotherapists on patient outcomes and any changes to patient status
- Recognise when input is required from the supervising Physiotherapist and obtain their involvement
- Maintain accurate and timely medical record entries that align to documentation guidelines and are co-signed by the supervising Physiotherapist
- Set up and maintain gymnasiums, therapy rooms, equipment and resources, ensuring they are safe and available for individual and group programs
- Develop and maintain clinical resources and patient education materials
- Identify and contribute to the development and implementation of quality/service improvement activities to improve clinical services and patient outcomes
- Actively participate in professional and multidisciplinary teams to provide patient centred care
- Actively participate in training and development activities to further develop clinical knowledge and skills
- Current enrolment in the final year of a Physiotherapy tertiary-level program from a recognised tertiary institution which will result in a Physiotherapy qualification is essential
- Recent Mater Health student placement experience would be highly regarded
- Ability to work under direction and within a defined scope of practice, in a complex and demanding work environment
- Effective communicator who works collaboratively with professional and multi-disciplinary teams, patients and carers to achieve optimal outcomes
- Proven organisation, prioritising and resourceful problem solving skills
- Sound computer and digital literacy skills
- Experience working in either a hospital, sub acute, disability or community health setting would be highly regarded
