- Identify, evaluate and negotiate with freight providers to secure the best rates and service levels.
- Develop and execute transportation procurement strategies to meet business needs and optimise costs.
- Manage service agreements and agreed operational procedures with freight providers, ensuring compliance with company service expectations and legal requirements.
- Provide advice on matters relating to road, rail or alternate domestic freight inquiries.
- Monitor delivery requirements to conform to the company's expectations.
- Co-ordinate and assist in the administration and maintenance of records and files for efficient and effective operations.
- Action quality problems and attempt to resolve them to the best long-term interests of the company.
- Recent graduate in Supply Chain, Logistics, with some experience or exposure to a logistics and freight related environment.
- Understanding of CoR and Fatigue Management (desirable)
- Knowledge of Load Restraint and Dangerous Goods Regulatory Handling and Storage legislation. (desirable)
- Strong analytical skills with experience in data analysis and building reports.
- Negotiation skills and experience in managing vendor relationships.
- Experienced in the use of Microsoft Suite.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and in a team-oriented environment.
- Strong problem-solving skills, be curious, present solutions and have attention to detail.
