Student Support Officer - Diverse LearnersMarist College Ashgrove is a Catholic day and boarding school for boys in Years 5-12, situated in Brisbane's inner Northern suburbs. Inspired by the work of St Marcellin Champagnat, we pride ourselves on delivering excellent academic and career pathway results for our inclusive community of students.We are seeking applications to join our casual pool in the position of Student Support Officer - Diverse Learners.The primary objective of the role is to educate Marist young men ensuring all students with diverse learning needs, regardless of their academic ability, are given the opportunity to participate in the College Curriculum on the same basis as their peers and achieve their best educational outcomes.This position is casual, with shifts from 7:30am - 3:30pm. This position is remunerated at the School Officers Classification Level 4 of the Catholic Employing Authorities Single Enterprise Collective Agreement – Religious Institute Schools of Queensland 2023-2026 ($46.23 per hour).Typical Duties of the role may include:
  • Work with students requiring learning support or extension. This may involve working individually or in small groups in/out of the classroom settings (undertaking activities as directed by Case Managers and/or The Program Leader Academic Equity).
  • Provide pastoral and academic support to students that encourages students to develop skills and independence in their academic learning.
  • Assist with the monitoring and evaluating of student progress and recommend strategies to classroom teachers regarding observations.
