QC Welding Fabrication Inspector

- Assist in the Development of fabrication work execution packages for maintenance and project work activities.
- Contribute and assist in the development of inspection and test plans (ITPs), contract specific Field Installation check sheets (FIC) and quality documents.
- Distribution and submission of working instructions
- Assist in the drafting and submittal of technical queries (Provide welding and fabrication technical input for development of TQ / RFI)
- Review IFC drawings to identify suitable weld procedure specifications for work activities and submitting to client for review and site approval.
- Review and approve Subcontractor/s welding and quality documentation to align with project and code requirements
- Problem solve any welding related issues that might arise during work execution.
- Coordinates on site, non-destructive testing and post weld heat treatment of welding and any industrial Painting requirements, for alliance work activities.
- Supervise Welding and Allied processes to ensure compliance to the project construction and welding codes
- Maintains welding and quality documentation and registers as required by the contract.
- Client liaison for all welding related queries
- Provide training / mentoring to other employees, apprentices and tradesmen with respect to developing skills and to maintain the requirements of quality control, quality assurance and continuous improvement.
- Ensure implementation and monitoring of the Ventia Welding Management System.
- Conducts welder qualification testing to the applicable standards and welding procedures.
- Supports in Conducting audits of supplier facilities and manufactured / repaired items as required.
- Assess and advise on fabrication methodology in line with client provided material specifications, designs and applicable local / international standards.

- Relevant Mechanical Trade or tertiary qualifications, Cert III or higher. (Minimum relevant trade qualification)
- Weld Australia International Institute Welding Inspector - Basic Qualifications or similar
- Weld Australia Pressure Welding Supervisor AS1796 Certificate 10 as a minimum or equivalent.
- Sound knowledge and experience working with Carbon Steel, Stainless Steel and Aluminium materials with MMAW, GMAW, FCAW and GTAW processes.
- Minimum of 5 years' experience in a Welding Supervisory or Leadership role within the Petrochemical (Oil and Gas) industry or equivalent.
- Proficient understanding in reading and interpreting Isometric and Structural fabrication drawings
- Demonstrated management and organisational skills.
- Demonstrated interpersonal communication skills and the ability to work as a member of a team.
- Highly motivated with good written, problem solving, communication.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (excel, word)
- An ability to work flexibly and adaptively in a complex environment with multiple stakeholders.
