Please indicate in the questionnaire which roles you are interested in.The Wintel System Engineer role is a high performing engineering role within the ICT Platform Services and Support Section. You will work across several areas, predominately focused on developing and maintaining the ACMA’s on-premises infrastructure and applications. You will have a strong background in several technologies and can demonstrate an aptitude to develop hybrid cloud infrastructure-based skills into the future.As a Wintel System Engineer, you will be expected to:
Take a lead role in the development and the maintenance of the ACMA’s on-premises infrastructure and applications including ensuring support standards are met
Create and maintain SOP documents for the on-premiss infrastructure and application environments
Tune monitoring and alerting services within the on-premises infrastructure and applications ecosystem
Support hybrid cloud adoption, delivering and integrating Microsoft solutions within a hybrid cloud infrastructure-based environment
Provide technical guidance and expertise during new technologies initiatives
Provide support alongside other team members for ACMA’s ICT platform services
The Azure System Engineer role involves being responsible for designing, deploying and sustaining cloud solutions on the ACMA’s Microsoft Azure platform and broader hybrid cloud environment using DevOps practices that are compliant with the ISM.You will ensure the scalability, integrity and optimal performance of ACMA’s cloud infrastructure, have a strong background in Microsoft cloud technologies and have operated in enterprise hybrid cloud environments. You will manage traditional IaaS Windows operating systems, and contemporary PaaS components, applying DevOps management and release constructs for the lifecycle of the services.As an Azure System Engineer, you will be expected to:
Design and implementation of cloud solutions that meet business requirements, leveraging Azure IaaS, PaaS, and first- and third-party SaaS
The operational deployment, maintenance and continual improvement of Azure resources, ensuring they are configured and working as designed
Monitoring monitor system performance, troubleshoot issues, and optimize cloud environments for efficiency and cost-effectiveness
Ensuring the security of cloud infrastructure and data, synthesizing and implementing security controls, best practices and ensuring alignment to organisational and Government security policy.
Automation of processes and deployments leveraging infrastructure as code and other programming constructs through DevOps methodologies and platforms
Collaborate and work closely with DevOps teams, developers, and other stakeholders to ensure seamless integration and support the ongoing development and maintenance of cloud environments
Work in a team to deliver a critical line of business service, engaging with architecture, operations and external suppliers to coordinate and manage the continual release of the product
Our Ideal CandidateWe are seeking experienced Wintel and/or Azure System Engineers, who have a wide range of experience and skills. You will be a strong advocate of continuous improvement and automation when maintaining infrastructure and application platforms primarily.The ACMA has made a large investment in hybrid infrastructure, recent projects include a full network refresh, datacentre establishment, DR rebuild, HCI migration, server modernisation, a raft of cybersecurity initiatives and an ever-expanding presence within Microsoft Azure.Your strong technical knowledge and operational experience within a corporate or Government ICT context will allow you to maintain and deliver high performing and professional outcomes. You will provide technical leadership within the team with a focus on reliability, recoverability and security-using best working practices within the ICT environment.To succeed in this role, you will have previous experience in managing complex infrastructure and application services; within a team who are responsible for the security, reliability, performance, sustainment, and maintenance of software platforms, and their underlying networks and infrastructure.You will be a future focussed, forward-thinking leader, skilled at building and maintaining superior interpersonal relationships within organisations that drive high-standards of individual, team and organisational performance.You will be purposeful and outcomes-focused and able to adapt quickly to changing expectations and priorities by being agile and flexible.
