- Liaising extensively with our façade engineering team to learn the nuances of the role to supplement your existing structural or architectural engineering design knowledge
- Developing knowledge and becoming proficient in Finite Element Analysis Software (i.e Strand7) to perform glass checks, referring to glass code and perform bean analysis and other software programs as required
- Becoming thoroughly familiar with relevant building codes, standards and legislative requirements
- Carrying out design engineering for façade, steel and RC structures and build-ability consultancy, including material knowledge and installation techniques
- Accompanying senior team members to meetings with Clients and Architects to discuss project details and relieving supervising engineer of minor details as required
- Undertaking materials and products research, liaising with suppliers and contractors
- Providing assistance to engineers and design team in regard to cad and/or hand sketches for presentation and report purposes
- A strong and committed interest in structural or architectural engineering design and façade design
- Tertiary Qualifications in Civil Engineering or Architectural Engineering with a minimum average GPA of 65 (credit average or higher)
- Knowledge of different façade systems
- Architectural skills in Rhino / InDesign or similar software
- A positive "can do" approach and a willingness to go the extra mile
- Ability to work effectively and collaboratively with others
- Excellent communication skills (both oral & written) including report writing
- Ability to hand sketch an advantage
- Advanced computer literacy skills
- A passion for detail
- Excellent initiative, organisational, communication and interpersonal skills
- Experience in the construction industry and strong 3D capability is an advantage
