We Deliver – Together.The Opportunity:We are seeking a Purchasing Officer to join our team in Melbourne on a part-time basis, providing vital procurement and logistics support within the Armoured Fighting Vehicle (AFV) Branch.This role will see you directly contributing to the acquisition and sustainment of critical Defence capabilities,working across a diverse supply chain that includes armoured vehicle systems, subsystems, spare parts, tooling, test equipment and sustainment products.All candidates will be required to hold and maintain an active NV1 Defence Security Clearance. Only candidates holding a NV1 Clearance or above should apply.Responsibilities:
  • Manage end-to-end procurement processes in line with Commonwealth and Defence procurement policies.
  • Support Foreign Military Sales (FMS) cases and international sourcing requirements.
  • Engage with OEMs, local industry partners and global suppliers to ensure the delivery of equipment, parts and services that support AFV programs.
  • Procure and track items such as vehicle protection systems, electronic components, mobility subsystems, repair parts, consumables and specialist test equipment.
  • Contribute to logistics and ILS activities, supporting schedule alignment, budget tracking and supplier performance management.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with suppliers and internal stakeholders to ensure continuity of supply.
As the ideal candidate you will bring:
  • Bachelor’s degree in business, Supply Chain, Logistics or a related discipline (or equivalent experience).
  • Minimum 3–5 years’ procurement experience, ideally within Defence or a highly regulated sector.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of Defence procurement frameworks, FMS processes and international trade compliance.
  • Strong negotiation, analytical and contract management skills.
  • Proficiency in procurement systems and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Current NV1 Security Clearance (mandatory).
