This is a great opportunity for a passionate legal professional looking to grow their career in financial services law. You'll be part of a collaborative team that values curiosity, integrity, and making a real difference for our customers.In This Role You Will
  • Advise on life insurance products and policy documents, and agreements required for TAL's business including with our partners and third-party suppliers.
  • Review disclosure material and marketing.
  • Advise on legal matters relevant to our business, including the Corporations Act, Insurance Contracts Act, Life Insurance Act, Superannuation laws and other legislation relevant to a financial services business (including privacy law).
  • Pro-actively identify regulatory or legislative developments relating to the TAL business.
  • Advising on and assisting with legal advice on and communication to relevant stakeholders (including regulators) on breach reporting and remediation.
  • Supporting the needs of the broader OCGC team.
Qualifications
  • Must be admitted as a solicitor in Australia
  • At least 3-7 years' legal experience in financial services
  • Experience in life investments products, group insurance, retirement income or negotiating commercial contracts highly regarded
  • Excellent knowledge of financial services laws including Chapter 7 of the Corporations Act, Life Insurance Act, Insurance Contracts Act and the Supervision Industry (Supervision) Act
  • Excellent and effective written and verbal communication skills
