We invite applications from all suitable candidates regardless of your gender, race, sexual orientation, or neurodiversity.Purpose of the roleThe Pipeline Engineer is responsible for ensuring the structural and operational integrity of all external pipelines associated with the Kwinana Energy Hub (KEH). This role provides supervision, surveillance, and coordination of pipeline-related activities, ensuring compliance with the Pipeline Integrity Management System (PIMS), Health, Safety, and Environmental standards, and applicable regulations.To deliver oversight and assurance that all work conducted on pipelines meets regulatory and operational standards, and to act as the site SME and main point of contact for pipeline integrity matters.Key AccountabilitiesOwner and the Subject Matter Expert (SME) of the site’s Pipeline Integrity Management System (PIMS), including implementing PIM activities and communicating pipeline risks and integrity status.Organise and execute intelligent pigging inspections and follow-up excavations and repairs every 5 years.Conduct and manage monthly and quarterly surveillance patrols of the FWOL, FBOL, KWOL, and local pipeline routes. Document patrols and verify pipeline security, marker condition, vegetation management, and third-party activities.Provide technical reports and recommendations based on inspection data and surveillance findings.Manage cathodic protection systems, monitor performance, identify areas for further investigations or upgrade/ repair, and provide field supervision of the Contractor scheduled surveysDevelop and maintain maintenance procedures and document repair methods. Ensuring that all aspects of fabrication and repairs satisfy relevant Codes, Standards and Practices.Formal record keeping of maintenance activities on pipelines e.g. coating inspection and re-wrapping and drawing updates.Management of an external pipeline information database that records pipeline route, land ownership, caveats and access rights.Develop and manage of scopes of works as required to modify, de-commission, remediate or remove redundant sections of the external pipelines. Provide supervision and oversight on the execution of the works.Ensure all pipeline activities comply with regulations, HSE standards, and industry best practicesParticipate in the “BYDA” buried services to manage third-party activities near pipelines, including guidance, site visits and supervision.Monitor and ensure that all works undertaken by third parties and bp on or near bp pipelines are conducted in a safe manner, without damage to the environment or bp Reputation.Essential Skills and ExperienceAt least 10 years’ experience in pipeline design, integrity, inspection or asset management within the oil & gas or petrochemical industry.Bachelor of Engineering (Mechanical or Materials and Corrosion) degree and/or API 570 certificationPreferably Chartered Engineer with IEAust or equivalentThe unique standalone nature of this role necessitates the candidate to have the ability to represent the company in an effective, professional manner to a variety of external stakeholders ranging from the public, developers, utility companies, local communities, councils to regulatory bodies. Hence excellent communication and inter-personal skills are required.Proven experience in supervising third-party or external contractors, including managing scopes of work, ensuring compliance with technical and safety standardsStrong safety culture and understanding of HSE requirements in field and operational environmentsGood understanding of pipeline integrity management systems, and relevant industry codes and standards, i.e. AS 2885, AS3788, API 570.
