- Leading two small but mighty teams across B2C Growth and Marketing Foundations, providing leadership in managing and guiding technical discussions.
- Attending stakeholder meetings with marketing strategists and leadership to advocate for the Engineering perspective and capture engineering requirements.
- Working collaboratively with group leadership, product managers, and engineers across Canva to deliver solutions impacting customers worldwide.
- Leading the creation of technical design documents for cross-group initiatives and contributing to engineering timelines and sprint planning. First cab of the rank would be investigating and designing the engineering roadmap for delivering Scalable Live-Events at Canva.
- Building tools and frameworks for rapid and reliable experimentation across the Canva app, facilitating knowledge sharing and continuous growth within the team.
- Designing, developing, and deploying solutions with hands-on software development, while effectively communicating with Product Managers and Engineers.
- Taking initiative in achieving goals, improving processes, and identifying opportunities for cross-team collaboration to work on new ideas and improvements.
- A background in both technical and people leadership, have honed skills in overseeing high-performing teams of up to 4-5 members.
- Success in coaching varying levels of engineers to have the most impact
- Coding proficiency on par with a experienced software engineer, with a particular focus towards full-stack development with a backend focus- having worked extensively in Java, NodeJS and react, with a generalist understanding of cloud Infrastructure, including AWS, Google, and Azure.
- Articulate with a strong background in writing, presenting, and communicating with stakeholders from various technical backgrounds and vernaculars.
- Proven experience working with Marketing would be highly regarded, though not mandatory
