Location: Zion Aged Care, Nundah - QLDAbout the RoleWe’re looking for a passionate and versatile Chef / Catering Assistant to join our dedicated team at Zion Aged Care. In this dual role, you’ll combine your culinary skills with hands-on support in the kitchen to deliver nutritious, comforting meals that brighten the lives of our residents.You’ll work in a warm, home-like environment where your contribution is valued and your growth is supported. Whether you're preparing meals, assisting with service, or maintaining a clean and safe kitchen, your work will make a meaningful difference every day.Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and present varied, nourishing, and appetizing meals that align with dietary needs and preferences.
- Ensure a safe, clean, and efficient kitchen environment, maintaining hygiene and compliance standards.
- Assist with meal preparation, plating, and delivery of resident meal services.
- Maintain a hygienic and efficient kitchen environment, including dishwashing and cleaning.
- Collaborate with chefs, catering staff, and care teams to enhance the dining experience.
- Communicate warmly and professionally with residents, families, and colleagues.
- Support and contribute to continuous improvement in catering services.
- Certificate III or IV in Commercial Cookery (or equivalent) preferred.
- Experience in a commercial kitchen, ideally in aged care or large-scale catering.
- Strong customer service and teamwork skills.
- Knowledge of safe food handling and WHS compliance.
- Ability to multitask and maintain attention to detail.
- Valid NDIS Worker Screening clearance or Police Check (or willingness to obtain).
