Access theAbout the roleIt is the purpose of this role to deliver high quality, evidence based Occupational Therapy clinical services as a member of a multidisciplinary team to residents with severe and complex mental illness in a specialised residential facility to facilitate rehabilitation, recovery, and transition to independent living.About youOur ideal candidate will be someone who can carry out the following key accountabilities in accordance with the Metro North Health's values:
- As experience builds, apply increasingly independent clinical judgement to more complex clinical decision making under the clinical practice supervision or professional guidance of a more senior clinician commensurate with level of knowledge and clinical expertise.
- Provide occupational therapy advice and education to the multidisciplinary team, operational supervisors, and key stakeholders regarding professional standards and clinical service development and contribute to the development of treatment, discharge plans, and service provision commensurate with level of experience.
- Participate in the development of clinical practices, procedures and protocols and other quality and service improvement and research activities to continually improve consumer care.
- Apply a developing knowledge of mental health legislation and policy (including Mental Health Act 2016 and the National Mental Health Standards) to facilitate the delivery of coordinated and integrated services.
