
Dry Gas Seal Service Technician

- Strip, inspect and assemble dry gas seals and seal cartridges in accordance with John Crane drawings and specifications
- Prepare seal parts and documentation for refurbishment
- Collect and inspect all incoming dry gas seal parts received from store and contractors
- Maintain records of dry gas seal quality control checks as required
- Carry out refurbishment of dry gas seal disassembly and loading into test cell / jig for testing
- Operate and maintain the lapping, polishing, grooving, deburring, spin test, surface profile measurement and balancing machines
- Carry out lapping, polishing and cleaning when necessary following the set standard processes
- Assist in retrieving and returning test cell parts / jigs to and from the warehouse storage location
- Complete strip and inspection reports
- Complete the set up and test of different types/sizes of dry gas seals
- Carry out manual machining of components where required
- Carry out service order entry duties as required
- Arrange and facilitate visits from internal and external stakeholders to the dry gas seal facility
- Carry out wet seal related duties during down time as required
- Travel within the APAC and EMEA regions from time to time to receive training and/or attend customer visits / customer-site assignments as required
- Maintain cleanliness of all work areas
- Actively engage in CI activities and initiatives
- Actively engage in EHS activities
- Actively engage in applying LEAN principals to improve productivity
- Carry out duties after hours and on weekends from time to time to ensure on time delivery of customer requirements

- Degree qualified in Mechanical Engineering or Mechanical Trade qualifications or equivalent
- A minimum of 3 years' experience in a technical service capacity within a mechanical engineering or similar sector
- Basic knowledge of instrumentation
- Direct experience working with rotating equipment in a similar role
- Knowledge and experience inspecting, building and testing gas seals and associated products
- Current Drivers Licence and Passport
