About the Hospital and Mental Health ServiceThis position is associated with a large referral hospital in Far North Queensland, servicing a population of over 250,000 people. The service you will be working in provides quality public health and clinical interventions which are evidence-based and reflect contemporary best practice. This progressive health service has a strong focus on emerging technology, excellence in health care, teaching, research, and empowerment of mentally ill individuals.Quality mental health services are delivered across various settings including a 38 bed Acute Adult Mental Health Unit, 10 bed Psychiatric Intensive Care Unit, 12 bed (sub-acute) Adult Unit and a 20 bed Community Care Unit. Dedicated and experienced multidisciplinary teams provide an extensive range of services at more than 30 regional, rural and remote facilities across a geographical area of 142,900 square kilometres.About the roleThis role will see you working in collaboration with other clinicians and service providers to provide high-quality mental health services to residents living across Cairns and the surrounding hinterland region.Your responsibilities will include providing clinical leadership to a multidisciplinary team, proactively driving the delivery of best practice inpatient and community mental health and ATOD assessment and management programs, overseeing clinical governance, active participation in service strategic and operational planning, and delivery of education and training to junior medical staff, medical students and mental health clinicians. Additionally, your responsibilities will include maintaining personal clinical and professional knowledge and skills by participating in appropriate continuing professional development programs and educational opportunities.Relocating to Australia?
