Our goal to build 'healthier rural people and thriving communities' is the shared responsibility of all involved in care of our patients and the Hospital Assistant is an integral and valued member of our team.The Patient Support Services team at Grenfell has a close knit team of 20 staff. You will be working in a varied and interesting role which includes transferring patients within the hospital, linen maintenance, medical supply restocking, cooking and/or preparing light refreshments, delivery and collection of meal tray to patients, general cleaning of patient rooms, ward and public areas, rooms and equipment, and assisting generally as directed by nursing staff.You will have the ability to participate in a rotating roster, including after hours, weekends and on call. You will be reliable, punctual and energetic, physically fit, have a caring and supportive attitude and use your good communication skills to be able to follow instructions and work as part of a team. Remaining calm in emergencies and the capability to handle equipment such as wheelchairs, beds and other medical equipment is also valued.You will be well supported and your dedication will be seen and appreciated.
