Local Relieving Teachers are based within a cluster or district of schools travelling up to 45 kms from their base school to cover vacancies. Local Relieving Teachers receive a 5% loading on their salary.Based at Flinders View Primary School, this position entails working in any of the schools in Port Augusta and surrounds including both primary, secondary (R-12) and Special Education, to cover short term teacher absences. The position requires the ability to establish and maintain positive working relationships and interact professionally with a wide range of people in various locations. Relieving Teachers can expect to work with a range of age groups and curriculum areas with only short notice. It is expected Relieving Teachers are able to work independently and collaboratively in a team and are able to develop engaging and effective learning opportunities for students. Relieving Teachers may encounter some students who exhibit challenging behaviours.Access to a government car is not provided for this position.Appointment is identified as temporary and made for a temporary period for which the teacher is not permanent on the basis of the appointment.In addition to the salary, other financial incentives may apply depending on the site location: Teaching opportunities in country South Australia (education.sa.gov.au).
