Always.We are St Vincent’s Health Australia, Australia’s largest not-for-profit provider of health and aged care services.Founded by The Sisters of Charity in 1857, our +30,000 healthcare superheroes operate public and private hospitals, residential aged care, community and virtual care, and outreach programs.About the RolePermanent full-time leadership role overseeing daily operations within the Haemostasis laboratory section at SydPath, including coordination of staff activities, workforce planning, rostering, and the recruitment of non-medical personnel to ensure effective service delivery.Ensure the supervision, maintenance, calibration, and quality control of Haemostasis laboratory instrumentation and methodologies. Oversee timely and accurate result reporting while providing expert advice on complex or unusual test requests and clinical result interpretation.Establish, monitor, and regularly review quality control and quality assurance systems, ensuring compliance with best practices and regulatory requirements. Contribute to continuous improvement by preparing, updating, and maintaining laboratory documentation and standard operating procedures.Lead training, education, and competency development for laboratory and pathology staff, while maintaining personal engagement in continuing education through internal/external scientific meetings, literature review, and delivery of presentations or demonstrations.Contribute to laboratory management through inventory oversight, supplier engagement, incident response, service improvement, and participation in divisional and organisational leadership forums. Promote safe work practices aligned with Work Health and Safety standards and demonstrate professional accountability in all activities.About You:Bachelor or higher degree in Science or Medical Laboratory Science, with recent and relevant experience in Haemostasis and Special Haemostasis testing, showcasing your technical capability in specialised diagnostic procedures.Experience in platelet function testing and/or haemoglobinopathy testing is desirable but not essential.Proficient in using laboratory information systems, ensuring efficient test processing, accurate data management, and timely reporting of results within a digital workflow environment.You work well both autonomously and as part of a team.
