- In collaboration with the MH & AOD Hub team & Emergency dept. assess and highlight the risks and considerations around the client’s substance use and the impact, interactions and implications for management of the client presenting to the ED Hub service. This should be done with a particular consideration around the bi-directional nature of the MH & Substance use issues for the client (Dual Diagnosis focus).
- staff assess the substance use issues, risks and management needs of the client presenting to the ED MH & AOD Hub service
- Identify and highlight the interactions, risks and considerations around the client’s substance use and the impact, interactions and implications for management of their MH issues (Dual Diagnosis focus)
- Provide support and advice around the management of the physical and emotional well-being of the patient in relation to their substance use presentation – around the acute intoxication and withdrawal management issues as well as discharge planning and access to community AOD support
- Certificate / Diploma or Degree in Nursing which meets the registration requirements of the Nurses Board of Victoria in Division 1 or 3.
- A minimum of 5 years experience – preferably in the AOD or related sector.
- Bachelor of Social Work (BSW). Eligible for membership of the A.A.S.W. A minimum of 5 years experience.
- Bachelor degree in Occupational Therapy. Eligible for membership of OT Australia. A minimum of 5 years experience (Or equivalent qualification and experience in a related discipline)
- Experience in Addiction Medicine and /or related fields
- Working knowledge of the SSDTA and the Victorian AOD service sector
- Current National criminal history check, or willing to obtain/ Current NDIS Worker Screening Check, or willing to obtain (Select which is applicable)
