Workers provide information, education, counselling and support to adults, families and carers whose lives are affected by mental health issues. There are also specialist youth mental health clinicians based in the region and access to specialist older persons mental health services.Relocation and Accommodation Assistance:

Support and Training:
  • Supervision - as per the Regional LHN Allied Health Supervision Framework

  • Support with transitioning into professional practice - through the Mental Health Allied Health Professional Practice Program (AHP1)
  • Scholarships may be available to undertake a Certificate of Rural General Practice/Graduate Diploma of Rural Generalist Practice via the Allied Health Rural Generalist Pathway (AHRGP)
  • Access to contextual Aboriginal Cultural Awareness Training (specific to the region) and access to Aboriginal Liaison Officers and Aboriginal Health Practitioners
  • Links with Rural and Remote Mental Health Services - for useful resources and professional support and/or Clinical Governance
About the Role:In this dynamic role, you will play a pivotal part in enhancing the quality and safety of subacute-driven Mental Health services, delivering expert Occupational Therapy and consultancy to support the recovery of mental health consumers in rural and remote areas of South Australia. As a clinical leader, you will mentor and supervise Occupational Therapy professionals and students, with a strong focus on subacute care as a specialty area, while upholding high professional standards within the LHN MH.You will have the opportunity to shape the future of Occupational Therapy within Mental Health by holding key portfolios, promoting service improvements, and fostering increased expertise in the discipline. This role also offers the chance to represent local teams and regions on important committees and contribute to significant projects that will influence the direction of care.With a unique balance of 70% clinical and leadership duties, and 30% focused on Occupational Therapy leadership, portfolio development, and supervision, this is your chance to lead with purpose and make a lasting difference in the mental health landscape of South Australia.Learn more about our workforce- Allied HealthAbout You:
