- Independently complete and/or directly supervise electrical engineering design and documentation as an (RPEQ) for large scale construction projects.
- Technical electrical design leadership and project delivery.
- Leadership and mentoring of junior engineers.
- Multi-disciplinary project coordination during tender, design, and delivery.
- Directing the digital engineering team to continue their growth as industry lead in the digital built environment space.
- Developing strong internal and external client relationships.
- Ensuring that the design, construction and maintenance of building services systems meets legislative and health and safety requirements.
- Responsible for the direction, coordination, development and evaluation of the Engineering Team.
- Utilise a structured program to lead the selection, training, competency and development of engineering staff and review progress with the Construction and General Manager on a regular basis, identifying areas of risk, opportunity, and/or succession.
- Tertiary qualification in Electrical Engineering.
- Chartered and Registered Professional Engineer of Queensland (RPEQ).
- Experienced in testing & commissioning of Major Electrical infrastructure, primarily LV systems, but also inclusive of HV, DC, Solar, Diesel Generation, SCADA, and Intelligent Transport Systems (communications).
- Experienced reading and coordinating with Architectural, Mechanical, Hydraulic, Civil, Structural, Services layout & schematic drawings for planning & construction delivery.
- Experience in cost estimation, design budget preparation, cost tracking and reporting.
- A sound understanding of Australian standards, National Construction Code, and Best Practice in Sustainable Building Construction and how they are implemented on construction projects.
- Ability to identify opportunities to improve concept designs provided by engineering consultants to realise cost savings in equipment, materials and labour during construction.
- Experience in leading edge software platforms such as Revizto, Revit, Autodesk Construction Cloud to maintain industry leading status.
- Confident, team player, adept at problem solving, capable of distributing technical advice across multiple business operation levels.
- Strong attention to detail and organisational skills
- Ability to provide technical leadership that guides project success and long term strategic objectives.
- Strong leadership skills, independent thinking and planning abilities together with excellent analytical and problem solving skills.
- Strong communication (verbal and written), interpersonal and relationship building skills, with the ability to develop and maintain stakeholder relationships, including ability to negotiate and manage conflict.
