- Ensure maintenance performed on assigned aircraft is carried out to the highest possible standard in compliance with company policies and procedures and Civil Aviation Regulations.
- Ensure tasks and duties are accomplished as per Bell Textron Australia Policies and Procedures.
- Performs electrical installs and repairs.
- Ensure correct configuration of aircraft as per customer requirements.
- Ensure all necessary work-related records and forms are properly filled out by the Engineer responsible for the work perform.
- Ensure that pertinent technical data and material provided by the repair station is being utilized for the maintenance work performed. This material will consist of manufacturer’s repair and inspection manuals, engineering orders, service bulletins, related Federal Aviation Regulations, etc.
- Perform aircraft Maintenance and Alterations, for which he/she is certificated.
- Track progress of work to ensure budgetary control is maintained.
- Ensure the aircraft and work bays are maintained clean, FOD free and organized.
- Ensure the proper handling and storage of all parts in the department’s possession.
- Assist with Planning aircraft maintenance.
- Responsibility for making recommendations concerning stocking levels of parts affecting the department.
- Mentor other team members as required, to include providing guidance and on the job training on tasks such tasks like modifications & manual usage.
- Provide directions to AMEs and apprentices to assist them to meet budgets and delivery schedules.
- Operational management of AMEs and apprentices providing clear directions for maintenance or modification of aircraft allocated to him/her.
- Provide input into customer queries and/or complaints.
- Foster and participate in improvement of working environment.
- A minimum of 5 years - experience in aircraft maintenance and modifications.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills and the ability to work with workshop managers and other staff in a busy environment with strict deadlines.
- An understanding of CASA regulations and compliance requirements.
- A keen eye for detail and a commitment to outstanding customer service.
- The ability to work independently.
- Good computer literacy and experience working with aircraft maintenance programs.
- Meet the requirements of the Company pre-employment drug and alcohol policy.
- Provide a current National Police Check.
- You must have the right to live and work in Australia without restriction and you must be able to obtain and maintain aviation and other government security clearances that may be required.
- A current CASA B2 License.
- Experience on helicopters.
- Experience in installations and modifications is highly desirable.
- Experience on Bell, Airbus and Leonardo helicopters.
- The following Type Ratings are highly desirable: Bell 212/412, AW139, PT6 series engines and T53 series engines.
- Competency in the use of computer-aided design programs will be well regarded.
