Where you'll be workingYou will be based at Gulgong Multi Purpose Service, a part of the Western NSW Local Health District. For more information on living and working in our beautiful region, visit our websiteThe historical gold rush town of Gulgong is located in the central tablelands of New South Wales, a two hour drive from the beautiful city of Orange and just 26 kilometres from the beautiful food and wine region of Mudgee.Much of the 19th century character of the town remains still today, making it a popular spot for tourists. The beautiful Yarrobil National Park is also close by, just 21 kilometres from Gulgong.The Gulgong Multipurpose Service (MPS) was opened in 2014 and includes the Gulgong HealthOne service. The site provides 24-hour emergency care through a two-bedded Emergency Department, four acute inpatient beds and six residential aged care beds. The site also provides sub-acute/non-acute inpatient services which includes respite and palliative care services, and a range of primary and community health services delivered at the HealthOne service.To apply, please address the following Selection Criteria
  • Unconditional General and/or Specialist Registration with the Medical Board of Australia.
  • Fellowship of the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners and/or Fellowship of the Australian College of Rural and Remote Medicine and/or Vocational Recognition as a General Practitioner.
  • Minimum three (3) years post graduate clinical experience. Previous experience in Emergency Medicine, General Practice, Adult Internal Medicine, Paediatrics or Rural Medicine an advantage.
  • Sound knowledge of and commitment to clinical quality and patient safety, work health and safety, working within NSW Health Policy and current clinical practice guidelines.
  • Knowledge of contemporary clinical management and modern approaches in assessment and management of the broad range of acute and chronic medical conditions. Competence in performing the range of minor urgent procedures commonly undertaken in a rural emergency department including Advanced Life Support and Trauma management.
  • Demonstrated commitment to behaviour which align to the NSW Health CORE values and WNSWLHD Values, goals and strategies.
