We're on the lookout for a talented and experienced Sous Chef to join our high-performing Resources Catering Team on a Fly-In-Fly-Out (FIFO) basis, flying from Perth to our site at Karratha. As our Sous Chef, you'll report directly to the Site Manager, ensuring the highest standards of safety, quality, and hygiene are maintained. You'll take charge of training the kitchen team, driving consistency and performance, and ensuring our culinary offerings exceed client expectations-delivering both healthy and delicious meals. Your expertise will help maintain contractual requirements while elevating our food service across the board.Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the charge in menu innovation and quality assurance to continuously enhance our culinary offerings.
- Cultivate a safe, productive, and supportive kitchen culture.
- Maintain high levels of customer satisfaction, always exceeding client expectations.
- Collaborate with Staffing Operations to manage rosters and ensure smooth shift coordination.
- Assist in the preparation of financial and operational reports, ensuring targets are met.
- Lead the training and development of kitchen staff to maintain a high-performing team.
- Commercial Cookery Qualification (essential).
- Proven experience as a Sous Chef in a commercial kitchen (essential).
- Strong knowledge of food safety and HACCP protocols.
- Ability to work a flexible roster and manage various shifts.
- Current Police Clearance (or willingness to obtain one).
- Exceptional communication skills, with the ability to organise, prioritise, and manage resources efficiently.
- Experience in high-volume catering, including bulk catering and banquet-style functions.
- Previous experience in a mining village operation is advantageous, but we'll consider all professional kitchen experience.
- All meals and accommodation provided while on-site.
