- Relevant tertiary education in software engineering, computer engineering, computer science, data science, information systems or information technology or a similar discipline. Additional qualifications in the fields of power systems and electricity markets would be an advantage, but not a requirement.
- At least 3 years of experience in a relevant field.
- Excellent communication skills with a demonstrated ability to successfully identify and translate the requirements of internal stakeholders into mature, efficient, serviceable, and scalable software tools.
- High level numeracy skills with demonstrated experience in manipulating, querying, investigating, and analysing large data sets efficiently in order to finding meaning and develop compelling data visualisations.
- An understanding of, or keen willingness to learn about the structure, key drivers and rules relevant to electricity market operations and planning.
- Demonstrated ability to document business requirements, technical requirements, and business processes.
- A demonstrated understanding of software development principles and an ability to apply them in practice.
- From an application perspective:
- We work in a MS Windows and Azure development environment
- Strong experience with SQL and Python is a core requirement
- Experience with Microsoft Excel and VBA, C++ and C# is highly desirable
- Experience with Web API architecture, Angular or similar would be considered advantageous but is not required.
- Proficiency in primary interaction with SQL database engines and database server management and data structure design is highly desirable, but not a requirement.
