About the RoleReporting to the Workshop Supervisor, you’ll be responsible for delivering high-quality mechanical services on customer trailers and prime movers. Your work will directly contribute to the safety and efficiency of transport operations.Key responsibilities include:
- Performing mechanical servicing and reconditioning of truck trailers
- Repairing and replacing brakes, bearings, and air systems
- Removing and fitting axle/suspension components with correct torque
- Carrying out fabrication and general trailer repairs
- Maintaining workshop efficiency and accurate documentation
- Trade qualification or equivalent (preferred but not essential)
- Experience in automotive, heavy vehicle, transport, or plant maintenance
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- Knowledge of trailer brake and air systems (advantageous)
- Welding and fabrication experience (highly desirable)
- A proactive attitude and commitment to safety
- Competitive hourly rate – up to $55 p/h for the right candidate
