The Role:Within the Agency Framework, and in accordance with Agency policies and procedures, the Nurse Practitioner (NP) plays a pivotal leadership role in the development, delivery, and evaluation of Health Services at the Central Highlands Community Health Service (Ouse, Tasmania).Operating within a defined scope of practice, the NP ensures high-quality, person-centred care that supports improved health outcomes for individuals, families, and communities.The NP is responsible as a leader, advisor and mentor for other nurses and clinicians to ensure high level clinical excellence in Sub-Acute, Aged and Community ServicesThis position is central to:
  • Improving continuity of care for rural communities.
  • Strengthening integration across THS services, private providers, and community organisations.
  • Supporting a place-based approach to care delivery.
The NP will draw upon advanced clinical competencies to:
  • Enhance service outcomes through research and quality improvement.
  • Champion nurse-led primary care pathways.
  • Engage in relevant research, collaborative education, and service redesign.
  • Act as a leader and mentor to nurses and other clinicians across Sub-Acute, Aged, and Community Services.

Our Employer 12% superannuation contribution is on top of this amount.
  • Salary range is in accordance with Nurses and Midwives (Tasmania State Service) Agreement 2023.
In addition, the following allowances calculated on the salaried incremental point may be available:
  • Post Graduate Allowance of up to 7.5% based on qualification type.
Salary Packaging:You'll have access to salary package a range of benefits including living expenses up to $9,010 + $2,650 in meal entertainment each FBT year + other benefits if eligible.
  • Remote and Rural Professional Development Allowance of an additional salary allowance of 4%.
