Mackay Base Hospital is seeking a Registered Midwife (Grade 5) to join the Women's Health Unit. This role involves supporting patients across labour ward and birth suite settings, with a focus on delivering high-quality, patient-centred care.Requirements
- Minimum 3 years' experience in women's health nursing/midwifery
- Labour ward and birth suite experience (essential)
- Knowledge of ieMR and proficiency in using the system (desirable)
- Previous experience with QLD Health, Mackay HHS, or other Australian health facilities (desirable)
- Basic Life Support (BLS)
- Manual and patient handling
- Infection control
- Aggressive behaviour management
- Mandatory reporting obligations for reasonable suspicions of child abuse and neglect
- Integrated electronic medical record training
- Online induction training
- Any other training as required by the HHS

Duration: 6 weeks (as per roster, rotating 8 & 12-hour shifts, max 80 hrs/fortnight. Overtime applies after 80 hrs/fortnight, not incurred on rostered 12-hr shifts)Bed and Scope
