You could be one of our 2700 committed team members who are up to the challenge.About the roleJoin V/Line’s Accessibility team as an Accessibility Advisor and drive initiatives that make a real difference to the accessibility of the V/Line network. You’ll support customer and community engagement, build internal capability, and embed accessibility across the business through key initiatives and projects aligned with the Accessibility Action Plan (AAP).This role offers the chance to shape the experiences of people with accessibility needs by engaging across the network, including regional areas, to understand lived experiences, remove barriers, and ensure initiatives benefit customers, the community.Key accountabilities include:Support the implementation of V/Line’s AAP initiatives, embedding outcomes across the business and aligning with stakeholder needs.Lead internal accessibility programs and support upcoming accreditation initiatives in collaboration with internal teams.Drive engagement and consultation with internal teams and external stakeholders, including advocacy groups, to inform accessibility initiatives.Oversee contracts and partnerships with external accessibility service providers to ensure effective delivery and alignment with accessibility objectives.Support accessibility initiatives which enhance passenger experience and remove barriersGuide accessibility compliance and best practice, supporting business planning and reporting as required.About you
You are someone with experience in the accessibility space, motivated to improve access to public transport, and with a background in supporting accessibility programs, engaging stakeholders, and driving initiatives that embed best-practice accessibility across an organisation.Our ideal candidate will possess the following:Experience with accessibility standards and best practice, including knowledge of the Disability Discrimination Act 1992 and its application in the workplace.Background in project coordination or management to lead a range of AAP commitments and associated accessibility programs.Ability to communicate and educate effectively with internal and external audiences, adapting messaging to suit each group.Familiarity with the V/Line network and public transport across Victoria is highly advantageous.If your skills or experience don’t exactly match our listed requirements, we still encourage you to apply.
