- Oversee and implement operational management activities and processes
- Ensure suitable internal governance processes are implemented within the NTRC and TRU to ensure good governance, risk management, decision-making and reporting requirements are met
- Effective delivery of services to support the NTRC and TRU's activities by working closely and effectively with internal and external stakeholders
- Lead and be accountable for the NTRC and TRU's strategic and business planning by providing high-level advice, data, reports, business cases and papers to the NTRC governance committee and head of TRU, including the development of periodic reports on matters of significant strategic or operational importance
- Ensure strict adherence and compliance to physical security protocols, as well as UTS data management, cyber security and risk policies and procedures as they apply to NTRC and TRU activities
- Provide advice and direction to the NTRC and TRU teams concerning local implementation of university policies and procedures in particular as it relates to administrative support, finance, human resources, facilities, marketing, IT and planning
- Monitor income and expenditure and perform financial analysis on a monthly basis to ensure activities and projects in the NTRC and TRU are tracking to plans
- In collaboration with the Director, Controlled Test Facility (CTF), lead and drive revenue growth by developing partnerships, expanding service offerings, and positioning the NTRC as a sought-after commercial testing centre domestically and globally
- Proactively identify funding and engagement opportunities that increase the impact and reach of the NTRC and TRU and ensure effective communication of these opportunities across relevant teams in the NTRC and TRU in order to increase research funding and collaboration opportunities
- Exceptional leadership and management skills and a demonstrated ability to build effective, high-performing teams.
- Exceptional numerical, conceptual and analytical skills, including the ability to identify emerging issues, trends and risks, and evaluate potential impacts.
- Outstanding planning, administrative and organisational skills, with experience in establishing priorities, allocating resources and meeting deadlines while working under pressure in a large, complex organisation.
- Extensive project management experience and skills, with a proven record of successfully managing all aspects of large, complex and organisation-wide projects through to completion.
- Demonstrated knowledge of higher education sector governance and management processes, including people, technological and financial issues and infrastructure
- Deep understanding of the research ecosystem, including research funding, operations and management
- Experience in management and monitoring budgets and resource management.
- Excellent stakeholder management, with demonstrated success in influencing and negotiating with stakeholders to identify business opportunities and fostering collaboration
