Reporting to the Head of Tax and Treasury, the Tax Manager plays a critical role in solving complex tax issues and ensuring that Go1 is compliant with all necessary tax legislation. You'll work closely with the Accounting team to identify opportunities for process improvements and potential areas of risk, monitor changes in tax legislation, and support the business with timely, reliable updates to policies and strategy.What You'll Do
- Facilitate and manage the preparation and review of Go1's tax returns, ensuring accuracy and compliance with all regulations
- Identify and address tax issues across multiple jurisdictions (including Australia and the United States), implementing tax strategies to minimize liabilities
- Manage tax audits and prepare all required documentation promptly
- Build and maintain strong relationships with external tax consultants and tax authorities
- Conduct deep research on tax issues and prepare clear, actionable guidance
- Analyze financial statements for tax implications and advise accordingly
- Coordinate with Finance and Accounting to ensure accurate and timely tax reporting
- Monitor tax calendars to ensure all filings are submitted on time
- Recommend tax-efficient business practices and identify potential savings opportunities
- Provide timely advice on matters such as withholding tax, sales tax, R&D credits, and relevant contract language
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
- 6+ years' experience as a Tax Manager or in a senior role within a Big Four public accounting firm
- Strong experience with international tax and transfer pricing
- Advanced analytical, research, and problem-solving skills
- In-depth knowledge of US federal, state and local tax laws
- Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Outlook, Excel, and experience using an ERP (preferably) NetSuite
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Ability to work effectively under pressure and meet tight deadlines in a remote-first environment
- Curiosity and openness to incorporating AI into workflows to enhance efficiency
- Must be comfortable in a remote, global environment where non-traditional hours are the norm
