The People, Property and Security Division works in partnership to deliver strategic and operational workforce services that enable and enhance organisational capability. The division provides stewardship, support, and services across integrity; conduct; property; fraud and corruption; security; performance management; rehabilitation management; recruitment; learning and development; inclusion and diversity; workforce planning and analytics; workplace relations; people support; culture and health, safety, and wellbeing.The People and Policy Branch are the front line of human resources (HR) for the department. We deliver timely and accurate responses to various client groups and support our people across the country with a strong focus on customer service and building trusting relationships with employees and business areas. We offer general and specialist HR advice and case management services for issues related to workplace relations, performance, probation, recruitment, attendance, behaviour, and workplace rehabilitation.The Recruitment Services section represents a core function of the department and drives the successful filling of critical roles, with the best candidate, at the right time, for the right cost. We have an exciting opportunity for high-performing HR professionals to join our motivated, supportive, and professional team to support our people and critical workforce needs of the department now and into the future.You will work within the Operational Recruitment Team to manage the department’s end-to-end recruitment activities, support the hiring area to apply attraction strategies and provide best practice advice on recruitment legislation and policy. You will make an impact on achieving effective and efficient recruitment outcome for the department by delivering and supporting frontline and contemporary recruitment practices.The Jobs
As an APS 5 Senior Recruitment Advisor your duties will include:
  • Engaging with internal and external stakeholders on recruitment matters via the recruitment hotline, inbox, and other communication methods, building strong working relationships to ensure positive outcomes.
  • Applying judgement, knowledge and discretion in interpreting and applying legislation, guidelines, and procedures.
  • Undertaking internal and external advertising and processing of recruitment outcomes.
  • Managing the onboarding process for new employees and ensuring that they, and the hiring manager, have a positive recruitment experience.
  • Supporting a positive team environment and contributing to team outcomes as well as providing guidance, support, and training to new and junior team members.
  • Producing high level written correspondence and advice including developing/updating procedures, policies, e-mail communications and other correspondence as required.
  • Identifying and contributing to process improvements and supporting the delivery and management of projects.
  • Working closely across human resource functions to ensure a collaborative approach to the delivery of work.
  • Contributing to the effective operation of the team, branch, and divisional priorities.
Please note that this recruitment process will initially be used to fill multiple vacancies in the team and that the roles may be performed from any of the locations listed above. The merit pool established through this selection process, which is valid for a period of eighteen months from the date the vacancy was advertised in the Public Service Gazette, may also be used to fill future ongoing vacancies in the branch where the duties are of a similar nature.What we are looking for
Knowledge and experience
To be successful in this role you will have:
  • Experience using an e-recruitment platform.
  • Proven experience in providing recruitment advice and outstanding customer service across a diverse organisation.
  • Demonstrated experience managing multiple priorities and ensuring a high level of attention to detail.
  • Experience applying and interpreting recruitment related legislation, policies, procedures and practices with a strong focus on customer service delivery.
