- Strategise and apply creativity and resourcefulness to resolve problems that arise from robotic welding and other tasks which includes application of new concepts or innovative methods to achieve results
- Create prototypes (if required) to weld or build the machines and systems.
- Develop cost-effective and efficient processes to weld the machines.
- Design, develop and implement hardware and software that will control the robotic
- systems.
- Perform integration or other tests on the robotic systems and ensure strict quality control.
- Investigate and troubleshoot failures/ defects in the robotic systems and machines, and provide technical support to customers of the robotic systems.
- Proactively undertake research and engage in self-learning on robotic welding and its technology to develop new robotic systems, applications or system capabilities.
- Develop and maintain positive business relationships with customers, as well as ensuring regular communication and timely reporting to management.
- Ensure an up-to-date and complete documentation of robotic welding systems, application development, maintenance, and changes, and assist to develop and refine the welding procedures.
- Implement and follow-through the ISO Quality and Environment Management Manual, work instructions, health and safety standards and other policies and procedures issued by the Company.
- Experience in welding and/or working in robotic welding will be required for this position
- Must be available to travel regularly interstate
- Tertiary qualification in Robotics, Mechatronics or Mechanical engineering
- Experience in the metal converting manufacturing industry (not essential, but desirable)
