Eligibility: Open to EveryoneThe OpportunityWe have an opportunity for a Biosecurity Officer to be part of our Biosecurity Division within the Department of Primary Industries and Regions.The Biosecurity Officer is responsible for coordinating and undertaking field-based biosecurity surveillance, conducting investigations relating potential breaches and inspection duties at entry points to Kangaroo Island. The primary purpose of the role is to provide biosecurity inspection activities and engagement with travelers to Kangaroo Island in accordance with the Landscape South Australia Act 2019, Livestock Act 1997 and Plant Health Act 2009.The role contributes delivering the agency’s including assisting the protection of Kangaroo Island primary industries particularly as they recover from the recent devastating bushfires.The role contributes to delivering biosecurity inspection activities to manage risks to Kangaroo Island posed by animal and plant pests and diseases.About UsSouth Australia is internationally recognised for the quality of its agriculture, food, and wine.
