The IP and CORE Operations Specialist is monitoring the network , identifies the network related faults , do the field dispatch and service desk related activities. Also is doing the first level investigation of the fault/incident or problem and localization of the failure area (e.g. network, infrastructure etc.). The role is part of the Managed Services team based in Melbourne, Australia to support the operational network activities for the IP/MPLS and Packet Code nodes in the customer network. In addition to BAU activities, the resource will also be involved in carrying out the acceptance activities to facilitate the handover of a Change Request from project delivery team to Operations group. The role will be required to participate in monitoring the testing and acceptance activities during the project deployment or upgrades and will also be supporting the Managed Services (MS) CORE SME roster. The role supervises the execution of the on-site Network Implementation, design reviews and testing activities in liaison with the Roll-out or Project/MS Management in order to ensure that the project/change activities are being delivered in scope as per the contractual obligations, Functional Performance Specification, timeline and required quality. The role is required to represent Managed Services team to conduct troubleshooting, participate in witness testing activities with customer involvement in the field, Control Centres or Data Centre/Exchange environments. The role is customer facing and mandates good communication verbal and written skills.

As part of our team, you will:
  • Become part of the GSM-R Managed Services Team based in Melbourne
  • Support BAU Operational activities as IP and PS Core SME (Subject Matter Expert)
  • Participate in 24/7 Support Roster for remote and on-site troubleshooting of reported faults
  • Apply knowledge of IP/MPLS and Nokia Packet Core Products
  • Support Change/Project Activities in order to facilitate Operational Acceptance on behalf of Managed Services Team
  • Develop cross-platform expertise to understand the e2e customer network and deployed solutions
  • Follow all Nokia Information Security policies and guidelines including ISMS (ISO27001 program)
*Required Skills
You have:
  • Hands-on experience required for Nokia IP and PS/CS Core Products (7750 SR, 7750 MG, 7210, 7705, R4 MSS, MGW and CMM)
  • Contribute to the development of the roll out plans with the Roll Out or Project/MS Manager as required or when requested.
  • Manage and coordinate the Network Implementation according to project plan and deployment processes.
  • Coordinate and facilitate site design, equipment engineering and Telecom Implementation with relevant stakeholders (GSD, customer engineering, Managed Services, network integration, NPO, subcontractors, etc.)
  • Manage defects and claim in own area of responsibility escalating when needed technical issues.
  • Coordinate and/or conduct site/safety visits and quality audits as defined in project plan or when requested by MS team.
  • Ensure that equipment installation results are according to the detailed installation Method of Procedure (MoP) and/or specifications and that they follow Nokia quality standards and all local applicable regulations and as outlined in the ORCA (Operational Readiness and Checklist for Acceptance) process framework.
  • Collect, verify and approve site documentation (site design, as-built, etc.) and ensure its timely and quality delivery.
  • Manage clearance of site defects and all punch-list outstanding items with suppliers and approve site readiness prior to the Site Acceptance by the MS and Nokia customer team.
  • Can act as the Field Quality and EHS Inspector for another project than own managed project when required or requested.
  • Ensure that deployment management relies on fact-based and verified schedules and forecasts and provides necessary required inputs into the process for critical decision making.
  • Collect actual services delivery performance information and determine the causes to any perceived deviation.
  • Collect information to provide latest estimates to completion and flag any inconsistencies.
  • Follow up and report the work progress related to time schedule and quality to Roll out or Project/MS Manager and escalates the deviations.
  • Monitor and control services delivery against quality processes and operational KPIs.
  • Follow up service supplier performance and report to Roll out or Project/MS Manager.
  • Apply best practices and improvement initiatives from past experiences.
  • Offer flexibility and willing to work over-time or weekends when requested to achieve critical project timelines.

  • CCNP Routing and Switching.
  • JNCIA Juniper Networks.
  • CCNA Routing and Switching or Security.
  • ITIL
  • PMP
  • Understanding of Cyber Security Principles and ideally have a relevant certification
