We’re on the lookout for a highly experienced HD or HRT Mechanic to join our small team working on fuel trucks and trailers. This isn’t your typical FIFO or shutdown role — we’re looking for someone based locally, who is used to working around town and wants to be home every night.You’ll be working out of Wattleup (in a couple of containers under a dome for now), with plans to move into a brand-new, purpose-built workshop in the Russell Road industrial estate within 12 months.This is a temp-to-perm opportunity for the right candidate — someone who’s mature, reliable, and confident taking the lead around junior apprentices.What We’re Looking For:This role would suit someone with a solid background in truck and trailer maintenance, ideally with fuel tanker experience, but we’re open to someone with strong heavy vehicle knowledge and the right attitude.Must-Haves:Australian-recognised Heavy Vehicle Trade CertificateHR licence or aboveMinimum 2–3 years post-trade experienceExperience working on trucks and trailersStrong diagnostic and mechanical repair skillsCommitment to safety, quality, and doing the job right the first timeConfident working independently and mentoring apprenticesNice-to-Haves:Fuel tanker experience (big bonus)Bus experience (okay if you also have truck/trailer background)Experience with maintenance & reliability best practicesNot What We're After:Mobile plant-only experienceFIFO or shutdown-only backgroundAnyone commuting from north of the river (just being honest — the traffic won’t work long term)Hours & Pay:Monday to Friday: 10–11 hour days (first 7.6 hours at $55/hr, remainder at $70/hr)Saturday mornings as required (also at $70/hr)Why Work With Us?No FIFO, no camps – home every nightStable, consistent work with the potential to go permanentSmall, tight-knit team with a focus on quality and safetyBe part of something from the ground up – new workshop coming soonLead role opportunity for someone ready to step upReady to Apply?
