These actions are identified in our SafetyCulture app and the mission of the Marketplace team is to make it faster, cheaper and easier for our customers to complete these actions and have a safe work environment.As we continue to scale an newly created opportunity has arisen for a Senior Financial Accountant to join our growing finance team.You will be working on the day-to-day aspects of SafetyCulture's global accounting operations focussing predominantly on the e-commerce goods business called SafetyCulture Marketplace. This role will be embedded in the team in a fast pace and fast growing environment. You will be involved in a wide variety of projects around process set-up and improvement, business partnering and transformation as Marketplace continues to grow.How will you spend your time
  • Managing the global financial accounting from income statement and balance sheet accounts and related processes such as revenue, OPEX, fixed assets, prepayments, inventory, and intercompany transfers.
  • Managing end-to-end inventory accounting process in collaboration with inventory warehouse managers
  • Acting as the go to finance business partner to the Marketplace team
  • Processing month-end journals and assisting with month-end close and reporting.
  • Working with external tax advisors especially in regard to sales taxes and import/export tariffsIdentifying opportunities for process improvement, standardization and/or automation
  • Ad-hoc involvement in both Marketplace and wider finance team projects including but not limited to system migration into the group ERP.
  • Preparation of quarterly stock provision, obsolete stock review and relevant group inventory/cost reporting.
What do I need?
  • CA/CPA qualified Accountant
  • 2+ years work experience in commercial business with FMCG experience essential and e-commerce highly regarded
  • Attention to detail with an ability to multitask and prioritise tasks
  • Advanced Microsoft suite (Excel, Word, Powerpoint, etc) skills
  • Proactive and enthusiastic attitude with a focus on making things better
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
  • Experience with Netsuite, Tableau and Avalara (desirable not essential)
