You can learn more about us by looking at www.workplacedefender.com.au.In order to service many new and existing opportunities we are looking for an experienced estimator with a background in construction (ideally in height safety) to provide a variety of support services to our sales team. Below is a wish-list of skills we would like to find in our new team member however it may be unrealistic to think we will find everything in one person. Thus if you believe you possess most of the following attributes please make yourself known to us.In terms of practical skills, our ideal candidate:-
  • can demonstrate experience in the commercial construction sales sector (ideally with exposure to height safety)
  • has proficiency in quantity take-offs, compiling quotes and interacting with construction tender management portals
  • can understand and interpret construction drawings, requests for tender and other documentation related to tender submissions
  • has some skills in 2D CAD
  • is proficient in the use of the CRM system, using it to generate and action reports, prioritise tasks and estimate time frames for job completion
  • is able to establish and nurture customer relationships through regular contact, following up promptly upon receipt of quotes to seek feedback and clarify details
  • understands the Victorian commercial construction market
  • has proficiency in the MS Office suite of applications
  • Is familiar with or has some exposure to a metal fabrication environment.

  • has an articulate and confident phone manner
  • is willing and able to work autonomously
  • is comfortable dealing direct with field service technicians and clients to gather requirements for quote preparation
  • can proactively drive outcomes by working collaboratively with both internal and external stakeholders
  • has good time management skills and a solid understanding of workflow stages
  • is well-spoken and able to engage key stakeholders in a professional manner, with a high level of written and spoken English
  • has a can-do nature, strong attention to detail and focused problem-solving abilities.
