- Strategic planning and policy implementation across QPWS&P-managed lands.
- Supporting the administration of permits, leases, & authorities under the Nature Conservation Act 1992 and Forestry Act 1959.
- Providing technical research & drafting correspondence, including ministerial briefings, to support informed decision-making.
- Negotiating tenure matters, such as revocations, acquisitions, & trusteeships, & assessing development proposals impacting parks.
- Engaging with government departments & land managers on strategic estate & tenure issues.
- Advising on Native Title ensuring compliance with legislative requirement.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to build relationships with Traditional Owners, stakeholders, and colleagues.
- Knowledge of, or ability to quickly acquire, legislative frameworks like the Nature Conservation Act 1992 and Forestry Act 1959.
- High-level writing skills for drafting correspondence, briefings, and reports.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Word and Excel, for data management and reporting.
- Strong problem-solving skills to address complex estate and tenure issues.
