As a Field Service Fitter at Hastings Deering, you will:
- Deliver quality service – carry out maintenance and repairs to the highest standard, ensuring our customers’ equipment performs at its best.
- Follow the right procedures – research and consult the correct and latest service information systems for specific procedures, instructions and specifications.
- Do it once, do it right – take every step to ensure workmanship is fault-free ensuring quality in the finished product and any rework is avoided.
- Work to schedule – complete assigned tasks within required timeframes while maintaining safety and quality.
- Keep customers informed – involve customers in major repair decisions and provide clear updates on job progress.
- Support genuine parts sales– promote and advise on the use of genuine Caterpillar parts to maximise performance and reliability.

A successful teammate will have experience in:
- Relevant Trade qualifications and demonstrated service and repair experience on Caterpillar mining equipment.
- Site based mining roles will require current coal board medical and a Std 11 Qualification or the ability to acquire via HDAL.
- 3-5 years’ post trade experience on mining equipment.
- Well-developed communication and customer service skills
- The ability to work autonomously and as a team as required.
- Demonstrated and proven ability with desktop computers and devices
- Experience on Caterpillar Diagnostic Systems (ET Vims, SIMSi and SIS)
- Commitment to a high level of workplace health and safety
- Your ability to work under pressure during peak periods is essential.
