About the roleMater Education has an exciting opportunity for a dynamic and experienced Educator to join us in a casual capacity to deliver high-quality accredited and non-accredited health and clinical programs to diverse community groups at our South Brisbane Campus.Are you passionate about empowering others through education? As our new Educator you will facilitate engaging learning experiences that enhance health literacy, support positive behaviour change, and improve overall wellbeing. Typical duties of the Educator include:
  • Deliver effective teaching and learning within classroom, workplace, simulated and online learning environments
  • Utilise flexible, blended and inclusive learning techniques, options and products which are responsive to various cohorts
  • Contribute to developing, and evaluating teaching and learning resources, assessment tools and processes that meet industry skills standards
  • Participate in continuous improvement activities to enhance the quality of training and assessment
  • Ensure that students adopt, and practise accepted safety procedures and sustainability in the learning and assessment environment
  • Contribute to the evaluation and review of educational programs
  • Participate in relevant professional learning activities
  • Undertake general administration duties including marking, students' attendance, S
  • Representing Mater Education at expos and events as required
About youTo be successful in this role, you must be a Registered Nurse (RN) or Registered Midwife (RM) with a current APHRA registration. Successful applicants will also have:
  • TAE40116 Certificate IV in Training and Assessment (TAE), highly desirable
  • Valid Working with Children Card (BlueCard)
  • Current Drivers Licence and a willingness to travel to other locations as required
  • Vocational competencies at least to the level being delivered and assessed Highly desirable and required for our accredited programs
  • Strong background in health or clinical education
  • Excellent communication skills and a passion for lifelong learning
  • Preferable - Demonstrated understanding of the Vocational Education and Training (VET) sector and experience working within an RTO environment
  • Detailed understanding of the relevant profession and accreditation requirements
  • Strong adherence and acknowledgment of Policies and Procedures and industry requirements
  • Ability to work well with peer educators and as part of a team
