Our proven project teams readily address complex and multi-disciplinary activities, providing low-risk and cost-effective solutions to the Defence force.The Opportunity:We’re seeking a Network and Server Operations Team Lead to oversee the delivery, integration, and sustainment of secure, high-performance ICT systems in support of Australian Defence Force mission planning capability. This is a key leadership role responsible for managing both the technical direction and day-to-day operations of network and server environments across fixed and deployed Defence contexts.In this role, you will lead a team of skilled technicians to maintain and evolve critical infrastructure, including physical servers, networking hardware, system configurations, and software environments. You’ll provide technical leadership across system imaging, security compliance, scripting, and data support while ensuring alignment with Defence ICT accreditation standards and operational requirements. You will also manage performance, drive continuous improvement, and foster a collaborative and high-performing team culture.This position is ideal for an experienced systems leader with a strong understanding of Defence ICT environments and a passion for delivering secure, mission-ready infrastructure. If you thrive in complex technical environments and are committed to mentoring teams and delivering real operational outcomes, this is an opportunity to make a significant contribution to Defence capability.ResponsibilitiesThe key responsibilities of the role will include, but is not limited to:Lead and mentor a team of technicians in the development, integration, and sustainment of software, hardware, data, tools, and processes for ADF mission planning systems in fixed and deployed environments.Conduct performance reviews, set team objectives, and foster a collaborative and inclusive team cultureOversee the maintenance of physical server and networking hardware, ensuring high availability and performanceManage the development and maintenance of system configurations for MPS laptops and serversCoordinate the installation, configuration, testing, and deployment of software and security updatesProvide technical leadership for resolving data support issues and ensuring mission systems meet operational requirementsProvide technical leadership for resolving data support issues and ensuring mission systems meet operational requirementsSupport Defence strategic networks, ensuring compliance with security and accreditation standardsIdentify, manage, and mitigate program and technical risks within the operations scopeReview, verify, and enhance documentation for MPS development and sustainmentEnsure project deliverables are met on time and within scope
