Let’s make a meaningful difference, together!Your part in our UnitingCare teamAs a part of our UnitingCare Qld Family and Individual Support Programs on the Sunshine Coast, this position provides individual, couple and group counselling and education with an aim to strengthen family relationships, prevent breakdown and ensure the wellbeing and safety of children and adults who live in all kinds of families.This role involves:
  • Providing non-clinical adult counselling and education with an aim to assist a person to cope with challenges and make positive changes in their life.
  • Providing a therapeutic process that provides a compassionate environment for individuals to express their feelings, be supported to understand, manage identified emotions, behaviours, and intra-and interpersonal relationships with more clarity and purpose.
  • Using range of different counselling approaches and techniques can be utilised depending upon the person and nature and complexity of a person’s identified needs
What makes a difference for us?
  • Possession of a Degree in Psychology, Social Work or Behavioural Science from a recognised tertiary institution and demonstrated skills and sound knowledge gained through substantial experience in a similar role.
  • Have sound knowledge of and/or demonstrated ability to provide counselling and related services within a therapeutic context to a range of clients with issues including, but not limited to, domestic and family violence, sexual abuse, child abuse, relationship discord and grief and loss.
  • Current Drivers Licence.
  • Working with Children Check (Blue Card)
