Café and Wellness RolePermanent Part-Time position.15 hours per fortnight on Monday onlyThe candidate must be able to speak, read, and write Chinese (either Mandarin or Cantonese)What you’ll be doing in this roleUniting is seeking a Café Wellness Worker to work on a part time permanent basis, providing assistance in the provision of leisure and lifestyle services within the facility and providing leisure and lifestyle activities to our people consistent with current legislative and requirements.Your care work may include:
  • Communicate well with clients with varied needs and backgrounds
  • You’ll oversee the food safety program, maintaining the cleanliness, hygiene and safety of food service areas and equipment
  • Lead, guide and direct the staff with the planning of the program of activities, ensuring to liaise with team members, residents and carers.
  • Ensure that all residents are able to be part of an activity program of interest and that they are capable of achieving the desired outcomes.
  • Confirm activities program with the Manager with all details provided to include residents involved, timetable and resources organized.
  • Ensure that all evaluation of activities, daily activity participation sheets and other paper work is completed and that it reflects continuous improvement.
  • Develop activities that account for previous interests and current capabilities that enhance their quality of life through their interest and hobbies.
What we need you to bring
  • A good insight into the health, social or aged care services industries
  • Exceptional communication and customer service skills and the ability to get along easily with others
  • A gift for working collaboratively with a team and confident making decisions
  • Great understanding of Work Health and Safety principles and risk management practices
  • Confident using electronic, communication tools, including documentation systems, email and mobile phone
  • Great organisation and time management skills.
  • You’ll need to be resilient and resourceful, and be able to live our values of compassion, respect, imagination, and boldness every day.
  • Certificate IV in Leisure & Lifestyle or equivalent qualifications or demonstrated competency in the knowledge required for this role.
