A new opportunity has arisen to become part of the Emergency Department at a private hospital in Melbourne as a Nurse Unit Manager. It is a permanent full-time position.ROLE OVERVIEWYou will play a key role within a supportive team to ensure our patients have a great experience during their care.As an emergency department Nurse Unit Manager, your responsibilities will include:
  • Providing leadership and direction to the Emergency department team;
  • Providing clinical operational direction for the unit to ensure efficient and effective management;
  • Coordinating the delivery of nursing care that is evidence-based;
  • Ensuring the delivery of excellent patient and family-centred care in a team-focused environment;
  • Providing guidance, mentoring, and support to your team;
  • Be accountable for the effective management of human, financial and material resources;
  • Undertaking direct patient care, as required;
  • Compliance with ACQSHC National standards.
CANDIDATE REQUIREMENTS
  • Current Registration with AHPRA;
  • Working with Children check;
  • Previous experience at NUM level or equivalent;
  • Post Graduate qualification in critical care and experience in a critical care setting;
  • A strong commitment to developing in a management role;
  • A management degree or working towards (desirable);
  • Demonstrated HR management experience;
  • A sound knowledge base in labour management;
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills;
  • A commitment to a high standard of clinical and customer-focused care;
  • High degree of computer literacy, including MS Office and various databases;
  • Ability to work cohesively within a team environment.
