ALS provides the solutions required to maximise the inherent value of coal products.ALS Coal Technology is seeking a casual Coal Quality Tester to join its Team at Riverview. This is an entry-level position with the potential for long-term employment for the right candidate. The team focuses on the evaluation of metallurgical and thermal coal, utilizing advanced equipment like pilot/small-scale coke ovens and a Boiler Simulator Furnace.Day to DaySafely handle and process large coal and coke samples.Load/unload material from ovens operating at high temperaturesPerform physical testing (crushing, sizing, dividing).Record and transfer validated test results into systems.General site duties and safety incident reporting.Skills and AttributesNo prior experience required; full training provided.Strong focus on safety, quality, and teamwork.Solid numeracy, literacy, and basic computer skills.Physically fit; capable of repetitive manual handling in a dusty and hot environment.Willingness to learn, wear protective equipment, and meet production deadlines.Working at ALSThe ALS team is a diverse and dedicated community united by our passion to make a difference in the world.Our values are important to us, and shape how we work, how we treat each other and how we recognise excellence.At ALS, you’ll be supported to develop new skills and reach your full potential.
