An exciting opportunity has become available for a Senior Compliance Officer to join the Minerals Regulation Compliance team. It is an exciting time to join DEM as continues on a journey to be a best practice regulator and help ensure the mining industry complies with its obligations under the Mining Act. The role will include an opportunity to see lots of South Australia as part of the compliance role and interact with a variety of stakeholders.About us:

- Experience in the development and implementation of effective regulatory operational policies and processes, particularly in relation to a compliance function.
- Knowledge of compliance and enforcement principles, policies and procedures.
- Sound understanding of South Australian mining legislation, relevant environmental legislation, regulatory policies and processes.
- Expert ability to work collaboratively with a wide range of people, building productive working relationship with peers, other work colleagues and stakeholders.
- A degree in Engineering, Science, Environmental Management or another discipline relevant to compliance management or the resources industry.
PO3, $98,313 - $103,936 per annum
Full-time role, working 37.5 hours per weekSpecial Conditions:
- This is an ongoing position
- A current SA driver license is required.
- The position is based in the Adelaide office.
- Some out of hours work may be required, including intrastate travel.
- DEM encourages flexible working arrangements such as working from home, part time work, job share, compressed weeks and purchased leave. Arrangements are negotiated with the appropriate Manager.
- The incumbent will be required to maintain a safe working environment by adopting appropriate hazard management practices consistent with the role.
- The incumbent is expected to uphold the ethical behaviour and professional integrity standards as contained in the Public Sector Act 2009, as well as comply with any other relevant legislated requirements.
- Appointment to this role may be subject to a satisfactory screening check.
